John 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, One of the greatest delusions of modern Christians today is to think that they can have salvation without the power of God. As a result, you have many Christians who after coming to now the love of God and receiving Jesus, they fail to walk in the new man which has power over sin and is free from bondages. Ephesians 4:24 In the old century, when people became born again it was accompanied with freedom from sin and bondages. People had testimonies such as, “I USED to live in sin but after coming to Christ I don’t struggle with that sin anymore (or that sin has lost power over me).” “I used to be a drunkard but after coming to know Jesus I don’t drink anymore!” Where are such testimonies of the “things I used to do I do them no more?” Modern Christians are filled with all kinds of sins and are under a strange delusion that you can both be in Christ and still continue to live in sin. This cannot be. The Bible says that for as MANY as believed on Him, to them he gave POWER TO BECOME the sons of God. Dear friend, believe me when I say that that thing you are struggling with can lose it’s power over you. Believe me when I say that you can come to a place where you genuinely are not overcomed by that temptation anymore. Jesus wants to set you free, and until we have a proper understanding of this we will continue to live in sin and bondage. What does salvation set you free from? Titus 2:11-12 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 1. Salvation sets you free from ungodliness 2. Salvation sets you free from worldly lusts 3. Salvation hells you to live a sober life 4. Salvation helps you to live a righteous life 5. Through salvation, the Holy Spirit enters your life and teaches you how to live for God in this present world. If any man be in Christ, He is a new creature. 2 Corinthians 5:17
